The Labour Party is made up of over half a million members nationwide.    The Southville and Bedminster branch has 690 members (at March 2021). The two wards (estimated total population 24,300) continue to experience a significant amount of change.    Following the decline of local industries and closure of factories over the past 20 years, the regeneration of residential streets has gained pace and many small independent shops have opened while larger stores have closed.  House prices have risen, yet pockets of deprivation remain and issues such as toxic air quality, the economy of our retail streets, increased traffic and major new housing developments are impacting on the quality of local life.  Say something here about Labour’s local aims…
